Noble Friends,

On this date in 935, Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia, was assassinated by his younger brother Boleslaus. Yes, that’s the same Wenceslaus of the famous Christmas carol. Other than the Christmas carol, his reputation as a just ruler was part of what made him a saint, and today he is considered the Patron Saint of the Czech Republic.
