Let's take a brief break from Wat Tyler's rebellion, and explore another 
topic. On this date in 1514, the warship Henry Grace à Dieu was 
commissioned. This ship was an early "ship of the line", in essence what 
we would today call a "battleship". When commissioned, Henry Grace à 
Dieu was the first vessel to have gun ports and carried 20 huge bronze 
cannon on her lower decks, plus other guns of various calibers for a 
total of 184 pieces. She was the flagship of Henry VIII's fleet.
