[MR] Wikipedia Wat Tyler's Rebellion

Noble Friends,

On this date in 1381, rebels under the leadership of Wat Tyler and 
renegade cleric John Ball arrived at Blackheath near London. The 
rebellion, often known as the Peasants' Revolt, was the outcome of 
intolerable social conditions caused by the Black Death and high taxes 
needed to pay for the Hundred Years War against France. The next day, 
the rebels forced their way into London and began killing anyone they 
believed supported the royal government.
