Today's featured Wikipedia article concerns the Monnow Bridge in the 
city of Monmouth, Wales. This is the last surviving fortified bridge in 
Great Britain, and is a Grade 1 listed monument. The stone bridge was 
built in the late 13th century, possibly around 1272. It replaced a 
mid-12th century Norman wooden bridge.
