I wanted to thank everyone who made yesterday's Dun Carraig Baronial
Birthday happen, lousy weather and all. I'm sure I will miss someone, so I
apologize in advance.

Lord Richard and Lady Mary Pochet, thank you for facilitating the use of
your church's awesome hall, for all your hard work on set up, clean up, and
keeping people from getting locked in the bathroom.

Thank you, Lady Serena Giovanna de Verona (Roberta Huff Sprouse
<https://www.facebook.com/roberta.sprouse>) for running troll, and Lady
Kunigunde von Darmstadt for assisting. Fabulous job, as always.

Thank you to everyone who made things for the event, including Baroness
Amalia Kunne (Heather Williams Kriebel
<https://www.facebook.com/heather.kriebel>), who made the lovely site
tokens, Baroness Ceridwen ferch Owain (Linda McLaughlin
<https://www.facebook.com/linda.mclaughlin.92>), who made gorgeous favors
for the hunted animals (to be used at a later event), Lady Thea de Nes (Thea
Glas <https://www.facebook.com/thea.glas.7>) who made baldrics for the
fighters. Thank you, Lord Matthew of Summerdale (Matthew Keck
<https://www.facebook.com/matthew.keck.3>) for teaching bead-making and
Lady Coblaith (Elizabeth Greenleaf Redding
<https://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.g.redding>), Lady Guendolyn (Gwendolyn
Vicktoria <https://www.facebook.com/Gwen.Vicktoria>), and several others
for making the beads.

Thank you to Mistress Rose of Black Diamond (Lisa Rose Oswald
<https://www.facebook.com/lisa.r.oswald>) for an amazing feast. The basket
of food for the hunt, with little notes from home, was a lot of fun. And
thanks to your wonderful staff as well: Baron Khadir bar Yosef ha-Kuzari (Hank
Steinfeld <https://www.facebook.com/hank.steinfeld>), Lady Ysabel Aliz (Trish
Lilly <https://www.facebook.com/trish.lilly.1>), Megan Lilly, Lady Masarrah
(Marcia Cooper <https://www.facebook.com/marcia.cooper.7549>), Grace
Oswald, Marvin Adkins <https://www.facebook.com/marvin.adkins.7>, Lady
Alexina Mac Subhine (Sandy Nickell
<https://www.facebook.com/sandy.nickell.1>), Baroness Lore von Bubeck (Laurie
Bubeck Foster <https://www.facebook.com/laurie.b.foster.5>), Mistress
Arianna Morgan (Christine Reichart Stuermer
<https://www.facebook.com/christine.r.stuermer>), and Lord Matthew of
Summerdale.

Thanks also to the servers: Baron Joorkin Volz (Jeff French), Lady Alexina,
Lord Matthew, Master Richard ffaukes (Robert L Jones
<https://www.facebook.com/richardffaukes>), Mistress Branwen Wallis (Tammy
Jones <https://www.facebook.com/tammy.jones.311>), Lady Serena. Penny of
Dun Carraig, Lord Richard, Kailey Erwinsdottir (currently trying out the
name Vitani), and Mistress Mary Isabel of Heatherstone (Leesa Orton
<https://www.facebook.com/leesa.orton.5>).

Thank you to our wonderful MIC, Baron Harald Brandarm (John John McLaughlin
<https://www.facebook.com/john.mclaughlin.5059>), for running fighting
while baron and for working out how to make fighting happen despite the
weather. Thanks to Lord Cristobal Espada de Avalos (Christopher Mehl
<https://www.facebook.com/DocOutlaw>) for being available as rapier
marshal, although the weather didn't allow for it. Thanks to all the
marshals, especially Lord Seamus McRay and Lord Godai Katsunaga
<https://www.facebook.com/godai.katsunaga>, who changed plans and came to
Birthday specifically to marshal archery, only to have it rained out. I
hope you still enjoyed the event.

Speaking of archery, thanks to Nathan King, the baronial archery champion,
and Master Jonathas Reinisch (James Kriebel
<https://www.facebook.com/james.kriebel.9>) for their hard work on an
archery shoot that was also rained out. The targets I saw looked fantastic,
and I'm sure that the make up shoot will be a lot of fun.

Thank you to Baroness Lore Bubeck (Laurie Bubeck Foster
<https://www.facebook.com/laurie.b.foster.5>), our fearless MOL.

Thank you to our heralds, Master Cadfan ap Morgan Godrudd (Peter Schorn
<https://www.facebook.com/peter.schorn.12>) and Lord Cristobal. Both made
announcements throughout the day, and Lord Cristobal heralded Their
Excellencies' court. (He may also have given Their Excellencies an
unintended promotion.) Thank you also to Master Cadfan for remembering to
bring an umbrella, and for walking a number of people from the hall to the
field, including myself. If we don't catch pneumonia, it's due to your
courteous assistance.

Thank you to Lady Thea de Nes (Thea Glas
<https://www.facebook.com/thea.glas.7>) and Lady Alexina MacSubhine (Sandy
Nickell <https://www.facebook.com/sandy.nickell.1>) for running the A&S
competitions and the brewer's round table. Also, thank you, Alexina for
teaching the kids how to make butter, and thank you, Mary and Richard, for
providing musical accompaniment for the kids shaking their mason jars.
Thank you also to Lord Matthew for providing delicious homemade bread for
this activity. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

Thank you to all the performers, including Lord Richard and Lady Mary
Pochet, Penny of Dun Carraig, Baroness Fevronia, Baron Igor, and Baron
Harald.

Thanks also to everyone who brought games--Baron Harald and Baroness
Ceridwen, Baron Joorkin and Lady Guendolyn (Gwendolyn Vicktoria
<https://www.facebook.com/Gwen.Vicktoria>).

Thank you to everyone who cleaned up the site: Mistress Mary Isabel (Leesa
Orton <https://www.facebook.com/leesa.orton.5>), Lady Serena, Lord Matthew,
Lord Richard and Lady Mary, Their Excellencies Harald and Ceridwen, Ray
Paribello <https://www.facebook.com/ray.paribello>, and probably several
others who I've missed.

A special thanks to all the troublemakers from Storvik (you know who you
are), for keeping things entertaining.

And thank you to my amazing husband, Lord Matthew of Summerdale, who is
unloading the car as I write this, not only for all the things already
listed, but for hauling list fence and pavilions, for keeping me sane
(ish), and for dozens of other little tasks before and during the event.

Vivant Dun Carraig! Cave Canem!

Yours in Service,
Lady Adriana Michaels
