Today one of Wikipedia's featured stories is a brief piece on the 
Swedish kronkåsa, or crown cup. These were elaborate ceremonial drinking 
vessels used only by the nobility during in Renaissance Sweden. One 
wonders how you could actually drink from this thing, given the 
elaborate crown and some really eye-gouging decoration:
