[MR] Flash! more goodies for the Bright Hills Baronial Birthday event!

Greetings All,

Two updates for activities at the Bright Hills Baronial event “Celts, Kilts and Clans” on Saturday, Feb. 13th.

For our youth;

There will be two Pages Academy classes at Bright Hills Baronial Birthday on February 13, 2016, sponsored by Lady Katarzyna Witkowska and Lady Rebekkah Samuel.  The first class will start at 11:00 and the second class, Quilling, at 1:00.  All children are welcome.
Celtic Myths and Legends will involve a look at the origins of Celtic society and some of their contributions.  We will learn where they settled in Europe and some of the medieval peoples who trace their origins back to the Celts.  Then we will hear some of their important myths and legends, including the story of Etain.
Quilling will involve learning the basics of quilling.  Students will then use their quills to decorate a butterfly that commemorates the story of Etain.  
Each class will take 50 minutes.  There will be a children’s activity table afterward to that all student can finish decorating their butterflies.  There will also be celtic drawing pages available for children’s and parents’ pleasure.  Parents will supervise any continued activities.  Children’s activity table will close at 3:00.

For our Bardic folk;

Make ready your repertoire for the Bright Hills Bardic Bear Pit tournament!  Bring your stories, songs, and poems to match any challenge issued by your opponent.  Start thinking now of challenges, especially if they fit the event theme.  Bonus points are awarded for documentation of your piece, but beware that challenges can take the form of a theme, topic, date, place, language, or more!  Will you be the last bard standing?  Join us after a hearty lunch and see if you have what it takes!
