Noble Friends,

Today one of Wikipedia's featured articles is about St. Gredifael's
church on Anglesey, Wales:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Gredifael%27s_Church,_Penmynydd . The
church holds the tombs Goronwy ap Tudor Hen and his wife Myfanwy Fychan,
ancestors of Henry VIII. The hands of both effigies were damaged over
the years by pilgrims who took way chips thought to have healing powers.

Gredifael was an obscure 6th century Welsh saint:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gredifael . Here's a bit more on his
church:
http://parish.churchinwales.org.uk/b040/history-en/history-of-st-gredifaels-church-1/
. And don't miss the story of "Dog Tongs":
http://parish.churchinwales.org.uk/b040/history-en/dog-tongs-1/ . Sadly
the link to a photo of these instruments is broken.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Whose Scottish Ancestors Were Originally Welsh
