The 20th Annual Siege of Glengary is fast approaching and we in Syvlan Glen hope to see many of you there for another year of friendly war and camaraderie. This event marks more than 20 years of friendship with the Barony of Highland Foorde. We are looking forward to hosting our Atlantian cousins at this year's Siege.
In Service,Dame Hrefna UlfvarinnsdottirAutocrat, Siege of Glengary XX

The Shire of Sylvan Glen sends warm greetings and an invitation to join us on the weekend of September 25-27, 2015 for a weekend of friendship, camaraderie, and friendly warfare to determine who will possess the Sylver Apple for another year.

**Important update** The Shire of Sylvan Glen recently received word that the Coronation of our next monarchs, Tindal II and Etain II, would be held on September 25-27, 2015 in the Shire of Heronter. The populace rejoiced at the news that the Royal Line is secure and set about making plans to attend this joyous occasion to bear witness to the crowning of our new Sovereigns.

However, we were dismayed when reports of a nefarious plot hatching in Atlantia to take advantage of the fact that so many shire members would be so far from our home lands began to reach our ears. It seems the Barony of Highland Foorde wishes to reclaim the Sylver Apple of Sylvan Glen for their own, and they see an opportunity to attack while much of the attention of Æthelmearc is focused to the north for the Coronation of our new King and Queen.

We have started making plans to defend what is ours. We know that many who read this will have obligations to attend the Coronation of Tindal II and Etain II, but we are sending out a desperate plea for any who may be able to lend a sword or a bow or a horse to the defense of the Shire of Sylvan Glen.

We will also be marking the 20th anniversary of the Siege of Glengary and more than two decades of friendship with the Barony of Highland Foorde in the Kingdom of Atlantia with the theme Random Acts of Chivalry. Event attendees are encouraged to bring tokens and/or favors of their choice and give them to gentles throughout the weekend that inspire them by performing chivalric deeds or by simply making them smile. Friday evening will feature our famous Travelers Repast. Saturday will have a full day of martial activities, including heavy fighting, rapier, archery, thrown weapons, and atlatl. We will also have hounds coursing and shopping. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday at no additional cost. Saturday evening we will hold a grand feast and there may be a bardic circle afterwards.

Lady Ylaire Saint Claire will be hosting an arts and sciences competition with the theme of heraldry. We will be choosing two winners, one each for populace choice and herald's choice.

The populace choice will be decided in the usual manner of beads in a cup. All who come to view the entries will be provided with beads with which to cast their vote. The heralds choice will be chosen by the heralds based on use of heraldry and overall appearance.

While documentation is always appreciated, it is not a requirement for this competition.
