Noble Friends,

Today in 1536 George Boleyn, Viscount of Rochford, and brother of Anne
Boleyn, was executed on what were likely falsified charges of incest
with the Queen and treason against Henry VIII:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Boleyn,_2nd_Viscount_Rochford .
Henry and Thomas Cromwell arranged the trumped up charges and fixed
trials of both George and Anne so the King could marry Lady Jane
Seymour, already pregnant with Henry's child.

Executed with George Boleyn were four other men who were dragged into
Cromwell's plot: Henry Norris, Sir Francis Weston, William Brereton and
Mark Smeaton. Smeaton had confessed to treason under torture, but he and
the others were certainly innocent.

George Boleyn was married to Jane Parker, lady-in-waiting to Anne. Jane
gave testimony against her husband and Anne, probably motivated by
spite: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Boleyn,_Viscountess_Rochford .
Jane was heavily involved in the adultery committed by Henry's 4th wife,
Catherine Howard, and went to the block with the fallen queen. It would
seem that she finally got what what she deserved for bringing down her
own husband.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mung Napier, That Crazy Scot
