Did you know the Library of Congress was on Pinterest?
https://www.pinterest.com/LibraryCongress/
Apparently they are and they have a bunch of great boards, including Teachers:
Primary Source Sets. Sets of selected primary sources from the Library’s
online collections, together with historical background information and
teaching ideas.
Two of the pins were:
1. Teacher's Guides and Analysis Tool: Examining primary sources gives
students a powerful sense of history and the complexity of the past.
Helping students analyze primary sources can also guide them toward
higher-order thinking and better critical thinking and analysis skills.
Free tools and guides are ready to use in the classroom. Library of
Congress Educational Outreach.

and
2. Primary Source Set for Teachers - Understanding the Cosmos: Changing
Models of the Solar System and the Universe -- Models of the solar system
and universe, including drawings and illustrations by Ptolemy, Copernicus,
Descartes, and Galileo. Library of Congress Educational Outreach.

Totally period science stuff...
Hope this helps!
Jacintha, who's working on her MLS so she can be a librarian when she
'grows up' or retires or something.
