Good Gentles! I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank everyone for
allowing us, Clan Roanwoulfe, to host the water battle at Ruby Joust this
past weekend. All the kids seemed to have a good time and the little ones
did as well. lol (Well, there were a lot of us adult kids there having a
blast!) I would like to thank all the parents and children in general and
also, I'd like to thank a few people personally.
As always, I'd like to thank Master Talorgen Hersir for taking my idea and
putting it into motion and Lady Arnóra in Rauða for fitting it into the
schedule on short notice. I'd like to thank Mistress Adeliza of Bristol,
Lady Benefse Bint Zakariya, Lady Edan Lowery, and m'lady Mahala of Sully
Cove for baking the fantastic cookies that the children and parents enjoyed
after the water battle. Baroness Kaleeb also has my gratitude for the
kindness of a dry towel. It was such a wonderful feeling to wrap up in it
after being soaked and it kept me from getting too chilled. Baroness
Julianna, Demetri and the rest of her retinue were instrumental in getting
the water to the field and putting everything to rights afterwards. Baron
Drogo not only filled water gun after water gun, but he also was a good
sport about getting squirted constantly while doing so! Hiroshi of House
War Drummer came toward the end of the battle and showed a lot of energy
and flexibility with his running and combat rolls to the delight of the
children. And, of course, we can not leave out the great generosity of our
Monarchs. Not only did our beautiful Queen and Princess, Ysabella
Cacemoine and Lynette, spend Their time with us and got a good drenching,
but Prince Ragnarr Blackhammer also put in an appearance and let the
children chase him around for awhile. Her Majesty and Her Highness were
very good sports and I have to say, They gave as good as They got! You
definitely should not anger these ladies! That is, if you can get past
Their retinue, which included the ever vigilant Mistress Ceridwen Ferch
Owain - another lady with a good aim!
I can not possibly thank everyone involved, but I am still very grateful
for all that everyone did. As you know, I'm not as young as I used to be
and my memory isn't either! Please forgive me if you aren't mentioned, but
you are in my heart - every one of you! I hope to see you all again next
year as we attempt to repeat this - and bring some more children - off all
ages!
Gratefully, I remain,
Duchess Brianna
