This brief BBC story discusses Richard III's "untidy" grave: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-22647770 . His burial was rather hasty, perhaps because the monks wanted it over quickly for fear of reprisals by the Lancastrians. I can't believe he didn't at least have a mass.
I'm sure the York partisans will be smarting at the disrespect with which the very late king was treated in Leicester (even if it was over 500 years ago), and will be claiming the "untidy" grave is one more reason he should be reburied in their city.
