[MR] Rose Tournament at Pennsic

Unto the Roses, Diamonds, Edelweiss’, etc. of the Knowne
Worlde, 
 
Duchesses Anna and Seonaid are
pleased and proud to announce that this Pennsic will feature the return of the
Knowne Worlde Ladies of the Rose Tourney.
 
The official date and time of the
Tourney is Wednesday, July 31 at 12:00 noon at the East Kingdom Pavilion.  
 
The format will be the same as two
years ago:
 
All Roses, Diamonds, Edelweiss',
etc. are welcome to be a part of the tourney as are all sitting Queens and Princesses, both Heirs and Territorials who
are not yet members of the Orders.
Each Rose will sponsor one
Unbelted Heavy fighter and one Non-White Scarf (or White Scarf equivalent, i.e.
they cannot be the recipient of your kingdom’s highest level Rapier award)
Duellist.   
A Rose does not have to be at the
War to sponsor fighters, but we do ask that you either notify us in advance or
provide your fighters with a letter of sponsorship or a proxy to bring to the
list table.  We are hopeful that there
will be the opportunity for Roses to pre-register their fighters prior to the
War, but more on that later.  The list
table will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the Tournament.
If you have any folks who would
like to help out during the tourney, marshals, heralds, waterbearers, MOLs, etc.
please have them contact us and we will link them up with the appropriate folks.  Our hope is that this will be a multi-kingdom
wonder.
 
The tourney will be run in a
Bedford Points Style to maximize the number of bouts for the fighters.
The tourney will be run to
Atlantian/Eastern Standard.


In the tradition of the Ansteorran
Rose Tourney at Gulf Wars, we will ask that your fighters take a moment to
introduce their opponents to Their Roses before each round.
Please encourage your fighters to
present their best appearance on the field and come prepared to fight hard and
have a lot of fun.
There will be a silk banner as the
winner’s prize for each division (heavy and rapier) and other tokens that will
be handed out throughout the tourney to recognize individual accomplishments in
the lists.  We encourage Roses to bring
tokens to reward those who impress or inspire you throughout the day.
 
As in the past, we will provide
refreshments for all comers - all you need to bring is your fighters and a
chair. 
 
We would also like to extend our
thanks to other Roses who have offered to become a part of the team working to
make this tourney happen.  Duchess Katherine, Duchess Isabel, Countess
Kari and Duchess Kalisa.  Hopefully we will be adding more names over
time.
