Another interesting tidbit, it appears that many of the sailors on the Mary Rose at the time of its sinking were not English, but Spanish! No wonder an officer claimed he had the 'sort of knaves' he could not rule...

Subject: [MR] BBC: Mary Rose Sailor's Face Reconstructed
Noble Friends,
The new home of the Tudor ship Mary Rose has opened in Portsmouth: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-22691645 . This story features a slide show presenting various artifacts. Also available is a separate picture show, "Life and Death on the Mary Rose": http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-22625898 .
Also offered is an illustrated/interactive story showing a cut-away view of the ship and information about individual crew members: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-22639505 .
A separate and fascinating video showing how the sailor's face was reconstructed can be viewed (after the mandatory commercial message) at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22704980 .
Be sure to check out some of the other Mary Rose resources in the links section of these stories. Among them is a link to the Vasa, a similarly reconstructed Swedish warship.
There is enough cool stuff here to keep a Scadian busy for an hour or two!
Yours Aye,
Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
