Unto the populace of Atlantia, and especially the populace of the Barony
of Nottinghill Coill, does Lord Cian mac Ceallachain hUi Dubhlaich send
greetings!
This weekend, the Barony of Nottinghill Coill celebrated its 33rd
birthday, bid a fond farewell to Baron Geldamar and Baroness Etain, and
rejoiced in the investiture of Baron Takeda and Baroness Ariel as the
new Baron and Baroness of our lands.
I had the honor and privilege of being the Autocrat for this event,
which coincidentally, was the first event I’ve ever autocratted. Nothing
like jumping into the deep end, eh?
I wish to thank all of those who braved the weather to attend this
event. Though it was cold and wet, we really lucked out in that we were
still able to play our game. Everyone seemed to be having fun
throughout the day, and everywhere I looked, I saw friendship and
camaraderie.
I really want to thank my staff, who did a wonderful job. They did
their jobs so well, all I had to do was to walk around and look like I
knew what I was doing. To all of my staff, I offer a heartfelt “Thank
You”, as this event would not have been the success that it was without
you. I merely put together the team. You did the work. I can not
stress enough how much I appreciate all that you did. You all did your
jobs so well, that the only problems I really had to worry about were
keeping the bathrooms stocked with toilet paper!
It was truly an honor to work with the people on my staff, and to watch
this event come together. You guys helped me get through this without a
breakdown, not only with the way you did your job, but the encouragement
that you gave me along the way. Having a Peer walk by, smile, and give
a thumbs up can really lift your spirits!
I also want to thank the people who weren’t on staff, but who offered me
advice and support through this. Both the Outgoing and the Incoming
Baron and Baroness were great resources, and the people of the Canton
of Cyddlain Downs really came through for me and helped me in the
planning. Again, without your help and support, I would not have made
it through this.
Finally, to my lady wife, Lady Iollann of Glencairn, who not only worked
hard on the site tokens, but also had to put up with me all these months
of figuring this out, I can only say I am a lucky man to have your
support and love!
I am proud to have served my Barony and my Kingdom through this service,
and I am humbled by the support and help that I was given. The quality
of people within the Society, and especially within the Kingdom of
Atlantia and the Barony of Nottinghill Coill, is unsurpassed.
Thank you.
