Unto the Kingdom of Atlantia does Lady Wynne ferch Rhodri, Nereid, and proud citizen send forth greetings and a report from the Barony of Bright Hills on the event of their Birthday.
On this fine day, Saturday the ninth of February, in Their Majesties’ Barony of Bright Hills there was held a Royal Court.
Herein follows the events of this Court…
It was with much joy and great levity that Their Majesties Vladimir Tsar and Kalisa Tsarista gathered the good Gentles together with the purpose of awarding their subjects for various deeds. Of course, as is tradition, the Children of Atlantia were called together and after assuring Their Majesties that they were indeed having a fine time were rewarded with the traditional chase for the box of goodies, carried this time by his Excellency Baron Chirharts’ Fool, Khalid. This herald was assured later that said Fool recovered quickly from the pile of children and returned to court to once again entertain the assembled.
Lord Godai Katsunaga was called forth and in recognition of his arrow-making and skill in archery was made a Companion of the Order of the Pearl. He was also given a task by His Majesty, to make an arrow, in period style for use as his majesty sees fit.
Merleri, from Spiaggia Levantina was made a member of the Nobility with an Award of Arms. It is understood by this Herald that food played a role in the gathering and entertaining of many who became members of both shire and Society. Vivat Lady Merleri!
Young Lindsey of Bright Hills received the Sea Urchin for all her activity which included cooking, water-bearing, help with the children’s activities, clean-up and many other deeds.
For her work in the scribal arts Lady Alexandria Wright was given a Coral Branch. This Herald has much to thank Lady Alexandria for and she is very happy that such a deserving subject has achieved this fine award.
There were many newcomers attending their first event and Their Majesties made sure to welcome each with words of welcome and a small token in the shape of our totem animal, Spike. Tsar Vladimir made sure all knew the fierceness of Spike by demonstrating, for all assembled, Spike’s battle-cry.
As soon as our newest members found their seats, Viscountess Jeanmaire Ilaria Beatrice du Domremy, whom we all know as Mistress Jeanmaire, presented hersrelf before Their majesties and sought leave to vacate the Kingdom Office of Minister of Arts and Sciences and install Mistress Branwen Wallis as her successor. This was granted and both received hearty Vivats from the crowd.
As the cheers died out, Lady Beatriz de la Oya was called forth. After being quizzed by Their Majesties on her dedication to her art, she was given a Writ and informed that she was to be welcomed into the noble Order of the Laurel. Her decision is due at Defending the Gate.
With the kind permission of Their Majesties, their Excellencies of Bright Hills Baron Chirhart and Baroness Jeanne held Baronial Court. Afterwards, the royal Court resumed.
Lady Bernie of Wulfshaven called Clara, was welcomed into the royal Presence and given an Opal for her endeavors as exchequer for the barony of Bright Hills.
The Order of the Silver Osprey welcomed Lord Randver askmadr, into its vaunted company, for his fighting prowess. His Majesty also informed the assembled that he owes much to Lord Randver’s craft with leather and mending armor.
An Award of Arms was given to Rhys of Ravenhill called Raven who had to be entreated to leave the kitchen. His surprise was well-noted by all and Lord Rhys assured us that he would indeed continue his fine work in the kitchen, which was the reason for his ennobling.
Spiaggia Levantina produced yet another of its residents for an honor. Lady Eleri Vwyn received an Opal for her work as a Chatelaine for the shire. Her Majesty noted that it was indeed a tireless effort to welcome new folk into the Kingdom and Society and Lady Eleri did herself and her Shire and Kingdom proud.
A hush then settled upon the audience as Lady Alessandra da Venezia was called into Court. Earlier in the morning, their Majesties set Lady Alessandra on vigil to contemplate the duties and responsibilities of members of the Order of the Laurel. Lady Alessandra accepted the honor and was inducted into the most honorable Order to the cheers and happy tears of all assembled.
The court was soon closed and all assisted the Autocrat, Lady Faye de Trees, in settling the hall a feast cooked by the Bright Hills Cooks Guild. None left the hall hungry.
The proceedings are, to the best of my ability, a true and factual report of the Royal Court held on this past ninth day of February, A.S. XLVII (47), known mundanely as 2013, in the Barony of Bright Hills.
