Noble Friends,

Here's the BBC's weekend updates on the Richard III story. Nothing spectacular, but some of this seems like an attempt by Leicester to cement their claim to Richard's bones.

Leicester has proudly proclaimed that over 3,000 people visited their new exhibition in the first three days. Notable, but will the numbers hold? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-21404789

The exhibition includes a computer-generated replica of Richard's skull. Maybe they're hedging their bets, so Leicester will have something to show if York gets to bury him? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-21387795

Maybe he should be buried in Worksop, or back under the car park: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21339487 . There are several other video clips attached to this story. The tourism question is perhaps at the real heart of all this argument: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-19947894 .

The Scots had to get into the fray (We never miss a scrap!). BBC Scotland has a feature about Josephine Tey's defense of Richard (in her novel DAUGHTER OF TIME). I was not aware that Tey was actually a Scot named Elizabeth Mackintosh: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-21380622 . Whatever you may think of her novel, it was a significant contribution to the debate over Richard's character.

Surely there will be more to come. Do stay tuned.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, The Archer of Mallard Lodge
