[MR] BBC: Richard III's Face Reconstructed

Today the BBC is featuring a reconstruction of Richard III's face. Except for having too much chin, he was hansom man. The face compares well with the two most famous portraits, both apparently later copies of now-lost originals.

Richard might not have stayed hansom much longer. One of the stories quoted an examiner mentioning he had a number of serious dental cavities. Indeed, several of this teeth are missing (though some might have fallen out as the body decayed). The moral of our story: Even kings should floss regularly, and see their dentist twice a year.
