Dear Queenie,

I am sorry to report that the mishap from last years Harvest Festival may
have caused more trouble than we expected. I have done an investigation of
the stories and it appears true that during the abnormal snow storm at the
Baronies harvest festival last fall most outdoor activities were cancelled
(except archery) and a drinking contest between some of the Lords and the
Scottish visiting Lairds did take place. After many cups were drained and
spirits were raised a turnip was delivered turnip was delivered to one of
the Lairds at feast uncooked, and he did think that it looked like a
malformed portion of his anatomy, "his thingie", whatever that may be.

Upon further investigation I did find that this Laird is well known to have
a crone aid him in dabbling in the dark arts and was so put off by
the unintended insult that he has indeed planned to take his revenge upon
your norther lands. There have been reports of attempts to raise an undead
army to attack the lands and destroy them so that the Laird may make them
his own. At this time I have only seen examples of a few rats and other
small animals raised which were dispatched post haste, but I believe he
plans to use the time of their next harvest festival when all of the
planets and stars are in a correct placement as the main time of the
attack. The good gentles do indeed need assistance with this matter and I
for one look forward to dispatching of these creatures and enjoying the
merriment and feast planned, though I have heard that turnips will be
somewhere in the feast again but the cook has said they will be armored
this time.

Your servant,
Lord Edmund Blackadder
