Battle on the Bay A&S is just around the corner, and we have some great A&S
activities for the populace to participate!
A&S Competitions will consist of an open medium competitions based on the
theme of the event, Aztec/Spanish Conquistadors as well as a Baronial Bling
Competition centered around the two hosting baronies, Storvik and Lochmere.
A&S Displays will consist of an open display (works in progress are always
welcome) and a Novice display for any new A&S skill you have picked up in
the last year. Show us what you have learned!****
Documentation is always appreciated and encouraged, but not required to
participate.
Classes/Round table discussion will also be held in the afternoon as
follows. If you have contacted me about teaching a class for Battle on the

*Opus Anglcanum (underside couching technique) 11 am*
5-6 people can learn this great underside couching portion of the
technique. Hands on class. 1 hour.
*Brewing Roundtable focus on all-grain brewing 1pm.*
A brewer’s roundtable on all grain brewing, getting the sugar out and
having the best starting OG for your brews and how we get them. We will
also go over recipe making and tools for all grain. We will also discuss
the effects of lagering VS Ales. Bring your cups and we will taste the
difference.
*Intro to early period embroidery 1pm*
This is a hands on class where students will learn split, stem or outline
and chain stitches. Class size is limited to 6 students. All materials will
be furnished and students wish to keep their hoops they may purchase them
from me. What students should bring to class is a sense of humor and a
desire to learn. Time frame 2 hours.
*Actor or marionette? The keys to great Commedia all'Improvviso acting 3 pm*
Come to this interactive class to learn how to move, speak and hone your
skills of acting. Hour and a half class time
*Research and Documentation for A&S Beginners 3 pm*
You're ready to do an A&S project, maybe even enter it into a competition.
Get some tips on smoothing out your research process and writing effective
short documentation. 1 hour.
