[MR] Battle on the Bay 9/15/2012

Today is the last day for the pre-registration discount for Battle on the
Bay. Come celebrate the Baronial Birthdays of Storvik and Lochmere with a
day of armored combat melee, rapier melee, combat archery, target archery,
youth combat, children's activities, shopping, and Arts & Sciences classes,
displays and competitions plus a brewing roundtable! Enjoy an evening feast
and then music and dancing. A lunch will also be available ($5).

Master Reynard de La Rouchefoucauld has sent me the basic menu for the
feast:

Bread & Butter
Mezze platters of olives, cucumber salad, hard boiled eggs, sausages,
smoked salmon, cheeses.
Roast beef with divers sauces (on the side)
Roast chicken with sauces (on the side)
Marinated and roasted Goat
Tarte of rice (rice with orange juice, eggs, and spices)
Cheese pies (cheese, eggs, spices, crust)
Pies of Parys (or similar pork pies) (pork, dried fruit, egg, spices, crust)
Savory toasted cheese with Asparagus
Sweetmeats and fresh fruits (possibly with custard tarts, fruit tarts, etc.)


September 14-16, 2012 at Patuxent River Park, 16000 Croom Airport Road,
Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Site will open at 4pm on Friday and close at 11am
on Sunday.

guests of the Barony and the non-member surcharge and camping fee are
waived for children and youths. $2.00 discount to adults for
pre-registration by 9/3/2012! (The price on ACCEPS is set at $10.)
