Noble Friends,

Here's a brief BBC piece on new lighting for the Norwich Cathedral's
cloister.: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-20204255 . What
is most interesting about this story is the survival of the cloister
itself. Several English cathedral cloisters still exist, but many were
destroyed by Henry VIII. Of course, nearly all the abbey cloisters were
knocked down, though several abbey churches like Bath and Shrewsbury
were retained for the local parish without their monastic buildings.

Here are two pages with more history of Norwich Cathedral:
http://www.cathedral.org.uk/historyheritage/ and
http://www.easterncathedrals.org.uk/norwich.html . There are some really
great art and architecture buried in these sites, though you have to dig
around a bit.

I was pleased to notice that Norwich Cathedral has a labyrinth.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, That Crazy Scot
