yes Memu,, but talso to the unsung heroes, the families  of all those armed service members who have carried on in what ever capasity to that the one who was actuall in the armed services had that much more to contribute.
My father, a Tuskeegee Airman, who was too tall to be actually in the cockpit but was a medi, used to say " for every pilot in the air, there were 30 people on the ground for him."
That was not just grounds crew and such, it was the families who sent letters of love and support, the friends who thought about them , their religious advisors , health professionals, [ ok in WWII they were called chaplains] thank you all for your sacrifices  and words of encouragement to those who directly serve be cause you are soldiers of a different kind.
