[MR] 50th year

For anyone who's curious, the link to the bid information is http://www.sca.org/50Year/. Deadline for bids is July 1, 2012.

The event site, according to the bid requirements, should be capable of hosting 1500 to 6000 attendees. Since I have never been to War of the Wings (though I *do* want to go), I can't address the Elchinburg site's capacity or its accessibility to major transportation hubs.

By contrast, last weekend's Crown Tourney in Storvik had 460 attendees. I think that site might be able to hold 800 attendees if additional amenities were brought to the site, but I'm not sure it could reach even 1500. Given that Storvik is a rather urban barony, I can't think of any sites within our lands that would be big enough to host such a site. (Please note: I am speaking for myself, NOT the entire barony.)

I think it would be great if the 50-Year event were to be held within Atlantia's borders, but I will totally understand if the site of another major war, where the site is already known to accommodate crowds in the four figures, is chosen.

Yours in service,
Lady Patricia of Trakai

This may sound like a silly question, but have any Atlantians (with the
experience to do so) considered bidding on the Society 50th year
celebration to be held in 2016?
