Just a quick note - the Washington Early Music Festival will be taking place this June, and it features a lot of SCA-period music, as well as workshops for medieval instrumental and vocal music.
You can get information about the Festival at http://www.earlymusicdc.org/schedule.html
Most of the performance venues are within a fairly easy walk from a Metro station.
Some highlights:
- Barbara Hollinshead & Howard Bass: "Elizabethan Ardor" (June 2)
- The Baltimore Consort (June 3)
- Ronn McFarlane, "The Food of Love" (June 10)
- The Suspicious Cheese Lords, "La Pucelle: Celebrating Joan of Arc" (June 22)
- Hesperus plays a live score of medieval music to the 1927 film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (June 30)
