[MR] Highland River Melees

Greetings to the Tavern!

There have been some questions about Highland River Melees this year.  
Please allow me to step in for our Autocrat for a moment and try to 
answer those I have seen:

1.  The Event is June 1, 2, 3.  The Site opens at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 
closes at 11:00 on Sunday morning.  Anyone still on site at 11:05 will 
be assumed to be part of the clean up crew, as we need to clear the site 
completely by noon.

2.  The event is at Little Orleans Campground, where it has been these 
past two years.  May I grinningly remind everyone again to watch that 
curve!!

3.  The site is cleared for alcohol (period containers preferred), dogs 
(on leash, with proof of rabies vaccination in hand), children, and 
fighters of all persuasions (have I left anyone out?).

4.  This will be a Royal Progress event, and we are beyond excited to 
welcome our Royals to the Far Northern Reaches of Their Kingdom.

5.  Camping is not only possible, but encouraged.  There is a small 
extra fee.  The site has a few cabins for rent that sleep about 6.  If 
you want one of those, please get with Little Orleans at your earliest 
convenience because they book up quickly at that time of year.

6.  Yes, you can fish in the little riverlet behind us, or in the 
Potomac a mile or so away.  Maryland Fishing license requirements do rule.

7.  Yes, there is a little bar and grill nearly walking distance back 
the way you come in.  They like us.  Have fun.

8.  The Camp store sells beer, certainly, and ice.

9.  The gas station at the highway juncture is the last one.  They sell 
typical gas station food.

10.. and anyway, there'll be a fund-raiser breakfast and lunch on 
Saturday, and feast Saturday night.  Lots of food around!

11. And don't forget the Second Becoming Annual Brewers' Smack-down!!!

12.  For Artisans, the theme of the event is War of the Roses.  There'll 
be a competition and some lovely classes.

13. Fighers, be ready for authorizations, melees til you drop on 
Saturday, and maybe a torchlight tourney on Friday.

14.  Yes, we are going to put this up on ACCEPS momentarily.  Sorry for 
the delay on that.
