Ah, but her most excellent Excellency ... You seem to be forgetting.

Last year at this 'certain event in the high(ish) region near the
crossing of a river' ...

It was determined that LO, did the brewers of Atlantia deliver!!!!

But LO!  Did the DRINKERS of Atlantia, not live up to the challenge.

90+ gallons of beer, mead, wine & cider were brought forth to slate the
thirst of the populace.

Yet 80 some gallons were brought back home by the brewers.  These poor
poor brewers who were forced to take home all that lovely beverage.

On that day, the brewers beat down the populace of Atlantia, who did not
rise to the challenge set before them.
