A good possibility! Maybe even a few coins changed hands. Perhaps the
bard himself slept in the Bed of Ware (with 11 other people?). Nobody
has made that claim, but it is an intriguing idea.
While in Winston-Salem for Atlantia University, we stayed in a B&B
across the street from the 18th century Salem Tavern. I have since
learned that George Washington really did sleep there, actually twice.
Famous people have to rack out somewhere.
