Their Excellencies Thylacine and Adendra, Baron and Baroness of Hidden
Mountain, did hold court upon the ninth day of June commencing their court
at approximately five o’clock in the afternoon.
As the first order of business, Their Excellencies invited Geldamar and
Etain, Baron and Baroness of Nottinghill Coill, to join them in court.
Following a brief welcome from Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain, those
for whom it was their first event then were asked to stand and be recognized
and greeted by Their Excellencies and the populace.
Lord Trystan ap Morgan was then summoned before Their Excellence and
entrusted with the Baronial Toy Chest. Having given Lord Trystan a
reasonable head start, the children in attendance were called into court to
be recognized and instructed in the etiquette of toy pursuit.
Lady Evja Rognvaldsdóttir was then called before Their Excellencies to
receive the Order of the Azure Mountain.
With the permission of Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill Lord Cian mac
Cellacháin hUí Dublaich was then summoned forth to be named a Friend of the
Mountain.
Immediately thereafter Sir Afshin Darius was also called forth, again with
the approval of Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill, and also named a
Friend of the Mountain.
Their Excellencies then welcomed Mistress Tannis of Tir-y-Don into court to
deliver a gift of pine cones to the Baron and Baroness of Nottinghill Coill
on behalf of her own Baron and Baroness and exchange some pleasantries that
appeared to relate to the forthcoming War of the Wings.
Mistress Tannis then explained to the populace the nature of her Pelican
quest and bestowed her token upon Diana of Dair Eideand, promising that
should Diana ever join her mother in the Order of the Pelican, Tannis would
herself pass on her Pelican medallion.
Mistress Tannis then asked Lord Duncan MacEwan atte Mersche if he would be
willing to accept her token and he did so with great pleasure.
Their Excellencies then called forward the Order of the Sable Mountain who
were present in great numbers in court. A representative of the Order
begged of Their Excellencies a boon which was promptly granted. With the
obvious approval of the members of the Order there present, it was explained
that the desired boon was that an obvious gap in the Order be filled. This
boon being granted, the representative called in Brigit of Dair Eideand to
be received into the Order of the Sable Mountain.
Baron Geldamar and Baroness Etain then asked leave to do a bit of business
in court and presented Their Excellencies with birthday presents on behalf
of Their own Barony of Nottinghill Coill.
Lady Vilana, the autocrat for Baronial Birthday was then called forth to
announce the winners of the various competitions held during the day and
award to them appropriate prizes.
Their Excellencies then called into court the Champions of Hidden Mountain.
They thanked Lord Hróðgeirr Hrafnsson, Lady Asta knarrarbringa and Lord
Duncan MacEwan atte Mersche for faithful service and gave them leave to
depart. They bade Lord Alleyne Blackburn, the rapier champion, remain at
his post until his successor could be selected.
Lord Bor Markovich was called forth and invested with the regalia of Hidden
Mountain's Champion.
Lady Evja Rognvaldsdóttir was then installed as Arts and Sciences Champion
of Hidden Mountain.
Finally, Lady Isabella daughter of Arabella was invested with the regalia of
the Archery Champion of Hidden Mountain.
When the Champions had taken their rightful places behind the thrones, Their
Excellencies called forth Lord Aaron of Moorhaven and asked him to become a
member of the Baronial Guard of Hidden Mountain.
Finally, Lord Hróðgeirr Hrafnsson was called forth and inducted into the
Order of the Defenders of the Mountain.
There being no further business and the smells of a delectable feast
beginning to distract the minds of baronage and populace alike, here ended
the Birthday Court of Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain.
Thus was it done, thus was it witnessed on the ninth day of June in the
forty-seventh year of the Society,
