Excuse the repetition, but I am sending this out again in case anyone missed it.  I am sponsoring a competition for Novice Poets working in the art for one year or less. Poems may be of any length, written about any medieval/SCA or personal subject matter. Poems must be written in a medieval poetry form. You must have documentation that states, at a minimum, the medieval poetry form you have used, including the rhyme scheme or lack thereof. (Please don't let this scare you; I can provide assistance at the event in putting together a short form documentation!!!)  More points will be awarded if you briefly discuss the use of poetic devices such as alliteration, assonance, etc. and if you briefly discuss the meter of your poem. It is also helpful if you include at least a few lines of a medieval poem in the style you have chosen.

If I am not in the A&S pavillion, please seek me out at the Archery field.  I am planning on arriving by 10:00 at the latest.    Entries are scheduled between noon and 2:00 p.m.

Please check out the Poeta Atlantiae site under "Forms" (http://www.poeta.atlantia.sca.org/) for short form documentation that you can use and a typical judging form that may be of help in creating your documentation. Feel free to contact me for questions, guidance or help. (Please "refresh" the site if you are not seeing the form.)

Youth are welcome to participate. If there are enough entries, I will have a separate prize for youth.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
