Atlantians,
As we travel about through our Kingdom and elsewhere, many of us are
utilizing GPS or computer generated map products to guide us.
The sad reality is that there can be errors in the data for many reasons.
This can be simply a nuisance or can be a major problem depending on the
type of error or omission. The good news is that the problems can be
corrected! I have compiled a list of resources to report errors of
whatever type to the major players that provide content to the device
manufactures and or online products.
Google Maps: http://support.google.com/maps/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=98014
Map Insight Teleatlas: http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com/mapfeedback/index.php
Tom Tom Mapshare: http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/
Navteq: http://mapreporter.navteq.com/
You should make your report of errors, additions and deletions to all of
these as it will ensure faster dissemination to everyone across all
platforms.
Note: Mapquest & Yahoo Maps use Navteq & Teleatlas data. Many Cell Phone
GPSs use Google Maps.
If your GPS supports the addition of Points of Interest into its existing
data. I have found the following to be good resources for the major
brands:
http://www.poi-factory.com/
http://poidirectory.com/
http://naviprousa.com/index.html
Consult your device manufacturer for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps us all avoid getting lost and finding what we need when
we need it!
Andreas
