Much competition, much laughter, much good fellowship. Another Warriors'
Games has passed into the history of the Canton of Tear-Sea's Shore and a
good time seemed to be had by canton members and visitors alike.

Autocrats always have thanks to deliver but on this occasion in particular
the theme seemed to be "We'll Get By With the Help of Our Friends". So many
stepped forward that the autocrat ended up spending most of the day simply
enjoying the event, schmoozing with the populace and eating good food,
mostly cooked by others for the pot luck feast. I even had time to do some
heraldic consultation during the afternoon!

Particular thanks go to Baron Óláfr Starkaðsson and Baroness Aldis
Svansdottir who came from another state to marshal thrown weapons for the
competitions to the delight of the populace who once again got to play with
axes and knives, one of the oldest of the Warriors Games competitions.
Baron Óláfr tells me that he will also be submitting many scores for the
new thrown weapons royal round and it pleased everyone that Tear-Sea's Shore
could be in on the early stages of this new competition form.

Thanks also go to Sir Brian Killian the Red and Lady Maddalena Rondinelli
who also came "over the border" from Border Vale Keep to facilitate the
running of "last chance authorizations" at Warriors' Games. The fact that
nobody ended up taking advantage of that opportunity does not a whit
diminish their kindness!

And the folk of the canton stepped forward as always to help make this small
but sometimes complex event run smoothly. My deepest thanks go to:

Lord Ingvar Erlingsson who not only served as deputy autocrat, site opener
extraordinaire and indefatigable troll but also wrote all the checks and
finished the event report before feast.

Baron Thylacine and Lord Alleyne Blackburn who ran most of the competitions
and did all of the complex scorekeeping involved in determining the
champions.

Baroness Adendra who not only kept the populace well hydrated through a hot
day of physically grueling competitions but also delighted the children in
attendance with shaved ice and super bubble wands.

Lord Roibeard Mac Oscair, Lord Robert and their various assistants who set
up and took down the awning and furnishings designated for the MoL and
marshal's station.

Mistress Tegan de Moreton who made the pub lunch board much easier for small
(and large) fingers by slicing and dicing the bread and cheese that the
autocrat had originally planned on as a "do it yourself" project.

Lady Vilana and Lord Robert, respective seneschals of Tear-Sea's Shore and
Hidden Mountain, for keeping the necessary meetings VERY BRIEF to leave
more time for fun.

And, of course, a second and most heartfelt thank you to Baroness Adendra,
Baron Thylacine and Lord Alleyne who stayed to to the very end to bring the
hall to the state in which we had found it (well, actually, a bit cleaner
than we had found it)!

For all who helped, for Lord Roibeard Mac Oscair who won the overall
championship by a wide margin, and for all who simply came and added their
joy and laughter to the day, VIVANT!

Alisoun
