This Saturday Tear-Sea's Shore once again celebrates the Celtic warrior
tradition with Warriors' Games in Harleyville, South Carolina.
As many know, Warriors' Games is traditionally a non-fighting event with
games and competitions mostly in the Celtic manner to test the skills of
warrior and non-combatant alike.
However, thanks to the relative paucity of events in July this year, we are
offering the opportunity for last chance fighter authorizations for Pennsic
to any for whom this would be a convenience. We cannot promise to
accommodate some of the less common disciplines as they will depend on the
availability of authorized fighters in those disciplines to fight the
authorization bouts. However, we are happy to provide this service to the
fighting community and hope that we can in fact accommodate all who
need/wish to authorize.
Note that thanks to the kindness of Olafr Starkadsson and Aldis Svansdottir
thrown weapons will once again return to the competitions at Warriors Games.
And for those inclined towards less strenuous activities there will be a
board games competition, celtic insult challenge, a bardic contest for songs
and poems in praise of war and a competition for the newly made item which
would add the most comfort or elegance to the warrior’s life in the field.
As is traditional for Warriors’ Games, the feast is pot luck. Please bring a
dish that serves 8. Because of serious allergies in the Canton, we ask you
to accompany your dish with detailed ingredient list, if at all possible.
In particular, we ask that mushrooms, nuts, or seafood be clearly marked or
avoided entirely.
Site opens at 10 a.m. and the games will commence shortly thereafter.
Authorizations will be held as need arises and fighters are available
throughout the day.
If you have any questions about the event, drop me an email or call me at
843-881-5517 and I will do my best to answer them.
