Ten days until land grab Friday
Don't forget...................................................Don't
arrive surprised
- There are major changes going through at Pennsic this year
TRAVEL:
LATEST INFORMATION RECEIVED SAYS THE ONE LANE BRIDGE GOING INTO
COOPERS LAKE IS STILL OUT
On the Pennsic Home Page, click on SIte Info
There will be a drop down - pick Directions to Pennsic
There you will find a link for routes from each major direction or
You can try this link directly
https://www.cooperslake.com/home/detourDirections.php
ALSO - There is one lane traffic on 79 south of Pennsic as well.
ADDITIONAL CHANGES:
1. Pennsic is changing the bus routes. There will be four
this year: 1 for the B blocks and archery, 1 for the Bog, and 2 for
the rest of camp. You should be able to reach all areas of Pennsic by
bus. The Battle Field will be where the routes meet. They expect to
have a larger bus making the Archery run.
2. Parking will be STRICTLY enforced. There will no longer
be a “3-strikes” policy on parking violations. An effort will be made
to contact you and then YOU WILL BE TOWED. Both buses and emergency
vehicles had difficulties last year, leading to this upgrade in
enforcement.
- That being said, we all know bad things sometimes happen
to vehicles at Pennsic. If you get stuck or have a breakdown,
ESPECIALLY if you are somewhere you are not allowed to park, contact
the Watch contact watch to know if you are stuck or having issues.
Put a note on the windshield and hop the next bus to go by up to
Security Point and let them know so they can help you.
- Parking will be ONE side of the street only – EAST and
NORTH (parking lot and expressway). Parking to unload will, of
course, be allowed.
3. Check-in is electronic – they will have tablets and
notebooks and signatures will be on screen. Waivers will be
paperless. YOU STILL NEED ID, PROOF OF MEMBERSHIP, ETC.
4. Apparently some folks have been having ‘Zero Day’ parties
on their land on Friday night. This practice will no longer be
allowed, so please don’t try to go ’check out the land’ with cooler
and grill in hand.
