Over the last few hours I've received a number of queries about tomorrow's
event in Tear-Sea's Shore.
Since a number of them had a great deal in common, I thought it worth taking
up the bandwidth to answer them on the Merry Rose for the benefit of those
in the South thinking about an event involving less travel and more martial
combat than KASF:
1. The weather forecast has been updated and significantly improved with
temperatures rising to the low seventies, the humidity falling to the low
sixties and the chance of rain falling to 20%. The thundershowers
previously anticipated for Saturday have now been pushed back to Sunday.
2. As I write, feast spaces are still available. Cost for adults is $10,
for youth 6 - 17 is $8.
3. Yes, there will be tourneys and other fighting opportunities for BOTH
heavy and rapier fighters.
4. Yes, one of the A & S competitions is a dessert competition. Desserts
should be feed at least 8 (and can feed as many more as you desire!). A
COMPLETE ingredient list is required for all entries. Documentation is
good, but an ingredient list is essential given the number of folk attending
with significant allergies!
While the autocrat and his staff will be offline for much of today, I will
be available to answer questions by telephone (843-881-5517) or email
(silverdragon at charleston.net) until 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. I may be able
to answer email tomorrow as well, but that will depend on how the somewhat
variable reception at Broxton Bridge Plantation is tomorrow.
Your servant,
Alisoun
