Hi All,

Thought I'd sum up my mostly unexplained disappearance from the "world".

Aftter about 3 months of not being able to see the screen, much less sit up long enough to do much more than be in excruciating pain, nausea and illness. Well yeah, it was because of the glaucoma in my eye and yeah, I was given a "this might work" option, by the glaucoma specialist; but in the end, I had it removed - the eye isn't working and the specialist agreed with my reasons and reasoning: 1. the eye is gone and is essentially expanding and causing my a great amount of pain 2. the dio lazer treatment might alleviate some of the pain I was experiencing and 3. the only other option would be to deneucitize (remove the eye). Doc Thompson in Columbia did the surgery and, more importantly, NO MORE PAIN!!!!!!!!! There is a little bit where they eye is still swolen (5 days after surgery). The procedure is interesting: after the removal of the eye, doc put in a man-made coral and attached the loose muscles to that, then gave me a plastic "spacer" to prepare
the eye for the prosthetic. It was all part of the "package" my insurance pays for (huzzah). I'm still a bit weak, but on the mend. I have an appetite again :) I have also lost 40 pounds in 2.5 months (not a diet plan I would recommend). I do welcome phone calls and am now able to check my email again. Thanks everyone for your well-wishes!

I am still pretty weak due to muscle loss (what happens when one loses weight quckly), but still putting a positive spin on this... I can fit in my "skinny" jeans again! I can dance "toss the duchess" without someone getting a hernia, hmmm... I wiegh less than Wilhelm now, and the weight loss is doing wonders for my BGL. Oh yeah, Wilhelm can cook more than mac&cheese in the microwave and has actually used the stovetop and the oven with better than expected success. (^_^)

In about 3 weeks, I find out about my prostetic eye, thinking about getting everal later, really want to get one with a FMA sigil just for kicks.

On a bittersweet note, I may have to cut back further on my activities for a bit - recovering from this last bit of HELL, an amputation of yet another toe (missing two on the right foot now, 2nd and 3rd toes), a redebriedment of the right heel, eye surgery and the aftereffects of rapid weight loss is a quite a bit of healing to compensate.

Thanks again for all your well-wishes and prayers, I feel myself truly blessed to have so many friends!

Gonna keep on Keepin' On!
