Thank you to everyone who braved the elements on Saturday and attended the Pennsic Recovery Party hosted by the Canton of Rivers Point,. In the morning hours we did see some heavy downpours, but later in the afternoon the sun did come out and the weather vastly improved.
As we know, events do not just happen, they are the work of many people and I would like to thank everyone who helped out:
To their Excellencies: Baron Wolfgang Moennich von Luppin and Baroness Iseulte of the Red Cliffs for their support and advice during the planning and at the event.
To my wonderful and dedicated staff who made this event possible:
Lord Nathanial Ravenhill and Lady Osa who served as our gate keepers.
Lady Marie d’Andelys and her kitchen staff who prepared the hospitality table and our lunch.
Lady Rosaleen Robertson who provided Children’s Activities.
Lady Martine Picot who served as our Minister of the List and Baroness Bojzena z Osturna who assisted her.
Astrid del Greenwoode who stepped in as our Chirurgeon for the day.
Sir Bryce de Byram, our Marshall in Charge ran the Tourney of the Cross and Lily. Thank you to the eight fighters from Maryland to North Carolina who fought the Drachenwald Round Robin. Sir Amos de Pious was the Victor and Sir Keiran the Hunter won the Chivalry Prize. Randall Howell also received honorable mention for his tenacity by his fellows. Prizes were donated by the House of Restormel. And to Lady Ysabella Cacemoine who provided hospitality for the fighters. Later in the day, Sir Bryce also stepped in to herald at court for their Excellencies!
While there were no formal A&S competitions or classes, the hall abounded with activity by our artisans throughout the day! Illuminations, bobbin lace, Chinese braiding, knitting, sprang and music to name a few activities being shared during the day. We had newcomers and a returning SCA member from 30 years ago!
Sir Amos the Pious led a clean up crew to the kitchen: Randall Howell, Wilhelm Mounts Keep; to Baroness Magda z Stalburg for cleaning the restrooms and her wonderful husband, Lord Alderet de Marjolet who assisted in loading my vehicle and then mopped the kitchen floor! And to all those who helped ensure everyone had a good time and the hall was cleaned up in quick order!
And to the children of Caer Mear, they did a wonderful job making certain all the paper was picked up in the hall and outside!
And last, but certainly not least, to my wonderful husband who helped in many ways as we prepared for the event as well as being my strong supporter.
If I have forgotten to mention someone, please know that it was not intentional, just an oversight on my part.
To all of you, I say Vivant, Vivant, Vivant!
Lady Elizabeth Tender Herte
A Grateful Autocrat
