Greetings! On behalf of the St. Anne’s Clothiers Guild Mistress, Lady Amie Sparrow, we would like to invite the populace to participate in upcoming workshops:
This August and September St. Anne’s Clothiers Guild is hosting a series on Hispano Clothing for Women (c. 1480 – 1530). Lady Beatriz Alures (http://www.spanishseamstress.org/) will be teaching a series of classes on Hispano-Flemish costume. Her Spanish Project gallery can give you an idea: http://www.spanishseamstress.org/spanish-projects/hispano-flemish-clothing/.
All classes will be taught at 7 Oakdale Court, Sterling, VA 20165. RSVP to amiesparrow at yahoo dot com indicating the dates you will participate and providing your contact info (to include phone in case of changes). Please provide any dietary concerns in your RSVP.
25 Aug 2012 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm The first in this series is An Overview of Hispano-Flemish Costume. Lady Beatriz will discuss her research and historic sources for this style of garment. An overhead presentation is planned, and she will help you plan a project with tips on patterning and materials. Between this class and the next, you can start your Hispano-Flemish dress.
22 Sep 2012 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Fittings and Analysis. Bring your dress project to class and get Lady Beatriz’s help with fitting and any other questions that you might have.
27 Oct 2012 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Hispano-Flemish Accessories. Lady Beatriz will talk about the accessories (headgear, outerwear, jewelry) that you can make to complete your Hispano-Flemish look.
