It's me again!!!

The Barony of Bright Hills is holding a Mother's Day Tea on Sunday, May 13, in conjunction with this event in Havre de Grace.  At the tea and the demo we have for the mundane populace, I am sponsoring a poetry competition.

Poems are to be written about mothers, either a historical mother, your own mother or just a general praise of mothers. The poems are to be read or recited at the "Mother's Day Tea with the Baroness."  Poems should be composed in a medieval style. Copies with documentation are to be submitted to me and will be put on display. Judging will weigh heavily on the hard copies with documentation and extra points will be awarded for performance quality.  (You can have someone else read your poem on stage but you will not get the performance credits.)  If you do not have documentation, please submit anyway--we want to hear your poetry!!!!

One addition to this competition is for younger children -- I will be flexible on style but they must read/or have someone read their poem on stage and give me a hard copy; the important thing for them is to write a poem.

There will be a prize for adults and for children.  Older children and youth may want to submit in the adult category.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  The judging forms are posted on the Poeta Atlantiae website (http://poeta.atlantia.sca.org) to give you an idea of the judging criteria.

Please note that entry to this event for SCA garbed members is free and there is free camping.
