Who needs a little inspiration?  

Roxbury Mill Sergeants and Scholars, Saturday, April 28th,

Silk Banner Painting:  Mistress Theodora and Lady Griele
We'll make you learn the word vexillology, but we won't expect you to spell it. 
Class will discuss a brief history of medieval flags - pennons to banners to war standards.  Extant examples will give students inspiration for their own designs. Then, the class will learn how to make a medieval looking flag using modern silk painting techniques and dive into a hands on practicum.  The lecture will be repeated as additional students join the class later in the 3 hour block.  The instructors would appreciate a donation to cover the cost of handouts and supplies, but it is not required.
