Hosted by the Barony of Hawkwood in Arden, N.C.

With Spring in full blossom and the sun’s tender glow chasing away the
chill of the past winter, it’s time to celebrate the return of warm weather
and the birthday of the Barony of Hawkwood! We invite you all to join us
for a weekend of fun and frolic and tons and tons of fighting!

• *Fighting:* Fight ‘Till You Drop!!! Both armored and rapier will run
Bedford Points Tourneys to insure all the combat you could possibly want!
List opens at 10:00; tourneys begin at noon!

o *NEW!* At Her Excellency's behest, there will be held, a Friday Eve
Torchlight/Twilight Rapier Tourney at Hawkwood's Baronial Birthday!!! More
details will be forthcoming from our marshal, Lord Greylond Crow, as the
time approaches!

• *A&S*: Pay heed to the arts and sciences, for they will have much to
delight the eye and the senses!
All are invited to participate in two different A&S competitions at
Hawkwood Baronial Birthday, to include: a hats and headgear competition and
a baronial medallion competition. Artisans may also display items without
entering the competition. For questions about A&S competitions contact Lady

• *Hats & Headgear:*  Her Excellency is sponsoring a Hats and Headgear
competition, and looks forward to seeing the various items both men and
women can wear on their heads.  Documentation is encouraged, but not
required.

• *Baronial Medallion:* An A&S quest awaits you if you so choose to accept
the challenge. Gentles are asked to make a minimum of 3 award medallions
from the Hawkwood Awards in the medium of your choice, such as (but not
limited to) metal, wood, fiber, glass, sewn, metal cast, etc. Documentation
is not required but pictures during the process will help the judges.
Medallions will be donated to the barony.

• *Site*: The site is the Lutheridge Conference Center, 28 Spruce Drive,
Arden, N.C. 28704. 828-684-2361

The site is wet. No pets allowed. Parking only in designated areas. Site
opens Friday (May 18) at 5:00 pm and closes Sunday (May 20) at 11:00 a.m.
There is plenty of tent camping space and there are heated cabins. Please
specify your preference in your reservation.
Merchants are welcome, but please contact the autocrat in advance.

Children 5 and under are guests of the Barony, but MUST have a reservation
if occupying a seat during feast. Feast is sold by SEAT, not
age! Non-member adults must add $5 to the above prices. All refund requests
must be received IN WRITING within 7 days of the end of the event. The only
true reservation is a PAID reservation! Include email address for
confirmation.

• *Reservations*: Make checks payable to Barony of Hawkwood/SCA, Inc. and
mail to Beverly Curry, PO Box 1648, Enka, NC 28728.

• *Feast:* A scrumptious and delightful feast will be prepared by Master
Bran Trefonnen. Dietary concerns should be addressed to: swmyersATaol.com

Feast is limited to 66 seats/chairs.

*Directions:  *
Find your best route to I-26, exit 40, Airport Rd. exit. Coming from the
north/west, turn left at the ramp onto Airport Road; Coming from the
south/east, turn right at ramp onto Airport Road. Follow Airport Road until
it junctions with Hendersonville Road. Turn right onto Hendersonville Road.
The entry to Lutheridge is less than a quarter mile on the right on
Hendersonville Road. Signs will be posted.
