Unto Your Majesties Cuan and Padraigin, Your Highnesses Bryan and
Brianna, Your Excellencies Nottinghill Coill Geldamar and Etain, Your
Excellencies Hidden Mountain Thylacine and Adendra, the Triton
Principal Herald, the Atlantian College of Heralds, the populace of
Atlantia and all who read this missive:
Greetings from Lord Cian mac Cellacháin hUí Dubhlaich, Gordian Knot
Pursuivant herald, and herald of record for the Baronial Court from the
Battle of the Marsh Abbey in March, AS 46.
At the conclusion of the Battle for the Marsh Abbey, held in the Barony
of Nottinghill Coill on March 24, 2012, also known as Anno Societatis
46, Their Excellencies Geldamar and Etain, Baron and Baroness of
Nottinghill Coill, and Their Excellencies Thylacine and Adendra, Baron
and Baroness of Hidden Mountain, did process into court. A joint court
of the two Baronies was opened, and the populace was bade to be seated.
Their Excellencies of both Nottinghill Coill and Hidden Mountain
addressed the populace, and spoke fondly of the event, the people, and
the activities that they saw and enjoyed. They were especially grateful
that the weather, which had been forecast to be rainy all day, had
actually been pleasant and cooperative, and the rain fortunately held
off until activities were winding down prior to court, before coming
forth in a deluge.
Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill called for Syr Afshin Darius,
for They felt the need to speak with him. Apparently, Baron Geldamar
had to remind His Armored Champion of which of the battling cantons
belonged to Nottinghill Coill, and which belonged to Hidden Mountain,
for Syr Afshin was about to fight for the Canton of Misty Marsh instead
of the Canton of Brockore Abbey. Their Excellencies did then give unto
Syr Afshin a lovely Easter boa, resplendent in the Green and Gold of
Nottinghill Coill, with a hint of Pink thrown in as an accent. Their
Excellencies bade Syr Afshin to wear the boa to help him remember his
Barony.
Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain then wished to speak with the now
fashionably attired Syr Afshin, for They had a duty that They wished him
to perform. Calling forth the children, Their Excellencies Hidden
Mountain entrusted Syr Afshin with the Toy Treasure Chest, and then
invited the children to help themselves to 1 toy, once they caught the
fleet footed knight of Atlantia. Though Syr Afshin sped away, the
children proved relentless, catching Syr Afshin 20 feet outside of the
building. Neither the Knight nor his boa was harmed.
Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill had Lord Antonio Felucci
summoned before Them. Their Excellencies spoke of how much they see
Lord Antonio at work at events, especially on the rapier field, and thus
They felt it was time to present Lord Antonio with the Award of the
Golden Cord.
Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain had the newcomers stand up to be
recognized, and welcomed them warmly. Hearty vivants were given, along
with the hopes that they would come back and join us again.
Lady Caitriona, Equestrian Champion of Nottinghill Coill, was called
before Baron Geldamar and Baroness Etain, where They thanked her for her
service to the Barony, which had gone longer than was expected.
Baroness Beatrice Von Staufen was then called forth and was made the
Baronial Equestrian Champion, as Lady Caitriona handed over the reins
(literally!).
Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain then had the Autocrats for the
Battle for the Marsh Abbey come forth. Thanks to all of the staff and
attendees were made, and the various winners of activities were
announced. The War Points had been tallied up, and apparently, the
Canton of Misty Marsh had 1 more point than the Canton of Brockore
Abbey. A reluctant Brockore Abbey Seneschal came forward and turned
over the key to the Abbey, with the promise that he would be taking it
back next year.
Baroness Beatrice von Staufen, who had just gotten comfortable in her
place behind the thrones of Nottinghill Coill, was summoned forth again
by Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill. Reflecting upon her service
to the Barony in so many ways, Their Excellencies felt that it was way
past time to induct Baroness Beatrice into the Order of the Gordian Knot.
Baron Thylacine and Baroness Adendra ordered that The Corsairium present
themselves before Their court. Baroness Adendra commented at how please
she was that The Corsairium had fulfilled their contract obligation by
fighting well for the Canton of Misty Marsh, and thus She was pleased to
fulfill her part of the bargain by presenting them with the treasure
chest they had been promised, which was filled with homemade cookies!
Before The Corsairium could return to their seats, Baron Geldamar halted
them, and reminded them of the upcoming War of the Wings in October. To
ensure that the Corsairium fought on the side of Nottinghill Coill, He
presented them with another chest of treasure, filled with candy and
other interesting artifacts, including an inflatable pirate sword.
Lord Felipe de Pamplona was invited to come forth and speak of the
Nottinghill Coill Collegium, set to be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012
in the Canton of Cyddlain Downs (Columbia, SC).
Baroness Adendra of Hidden Mountain then announced a reminder of the
28th Birthday of the Barony of Hidden Mountain, to be celebrated on June
8th in Cordesville, SC.
There being no further business, Their Excellencies of Nottinghill Coill
and Their Excellencies of Hidden Mountain did close Their Baronial Court
and process out.
