I'm highly impressed with the idea of the invitations and the challenge...

The gears are churning but I just promised to help print promissories.

Subject: [MR] A challenge to the sitting Baronage

I sent the following message to my Baronial cousins a few days ago but felt I would post it here as well. That way any who wish to participate or help their Baronage be able to meet the challenge would know to approach their local Baronage. Here follows the message I sent to the fellow Baronage of the Kingdom.

Unto my dear Baronial cousins and the populace of fair Atlantia does
Duke Ragnarr Blackhammer, Baron of Dun Carraig and Knight of the Society send greetings and brings forth a challenge this day.

At this
most recent Gulf Wars I had the chance to see Prince Brian and Princess
Brianna give out invitations to specific worthy unbelts to enter Their
upcoming Crown Tournament. While they were giving out these invitations
TRHs declared that they did not have any invitations for any peers. They
stated that all peers were welcome to compete in Their tournament as
well as all landed Baronage. Upon hearing those words I was moved to
issue the following challenge.

I hereby challenge each of our
Baronial cousins to either enter the list at Crown Tournament or to
field a champion in their stead to represent their Barony. If each
Barony sponsored one fighter then the minimum size of the tournament
would be seventeen combatants. I feel that as the tenders of Atlantia's
lands for Their Majesties we should take a larger role in the tournament
that will choose who those Majesties will be. How better to know the
mettle of the new heir then for you or your champion to have faced him
or her in combat on their way to winning the tournament.

Baroness Lynette and I were appointed as Baronage less then five months
ago and do not want to run the risk of having to cut our Baronial term
so short if I were to have a really good day fighting. To meet the
challenge I have set forth we will be sponsoring Baron Jonathas Reinisch
fighting for Baroness Amalia Kunne. They have worn the coronets of Dun
Carraig before and will be fine representatives of our Barony. As our
champion for the day he will be fighting in the colors of the Barony. We
will stand with them in processional and ask the members of our
populace to do so as well.

I truly hope that a number of you
will take up my challenge by fighting or finding a combatant to champion
your Barony. I think it will greatly add to the splendor of the day. I
have always been impressed when sitting Baronage has taken part in the
tournament in the past. There is also no better reason to have to do a
polling for your Barony then your current Baronage becoming the next
Prince and Princess. Having had the honor of sitting the thrones of
Atlantia before there is no more rewarding way in which you can serve
the Kingdom. I look forward to seeing you all at Crown.

In service to Crown, Kingdom, and Barony

Ragnarr
Baron Dun Carraig
Knight of the Society
Duke of the Realm
