Happy Æthelmearc Day to all. Go wash a dish or make a friend or learn
someone's name and use it. Play Lego with a child, take a class, make
something pretty to wear, or ride along with a friend and see things from a
new perspective.
A similar post got me thinking. And I've lived in MANY kingdoms, at many
times in my life. And I have no doubt that my life influenced how I saw,
and played in each Kingdom. For example... the first time I lived in
Atlantia it seemed to me a very brash young Kingdom, and it was the
fighters and the prowess of our armies that seemed to be the lens through
which I saw the Kingdom. The West, seemed a very relaxed and still
energetic place. My second time in Atlantia the Kingdom seemed troubled,
and at this time in my life I was facing many questions and so was the
Kingdom, Do we split into North and South? What do we do with that
political mess in X ? How do we handle the mess created by Person X?
There was tension and faction everywhere. And Æthelmearc after that. The
place where I got my life in order, where I found healing among a Kingdom
of people who focused on Service, to the Kingdom, to the individual. And
for that, I think Æthelmearc will always hold the most special place in my
heart. It was where I found myself and learned to look outward. So, now
I'm back in Atlantia, and I'm wondering what will I find. And I think the
answer relies very much on what I seek.
So, how have your perceptions of your Kingdom changed as you have changed?
Happy Æthelmearc Day, ya'll.
