Hi All! -- Please share this with all appropriate lists! --
Greetings to our SCA Cousins in the former Central Region of the East
Kingdom! (OK, so that was back in AS X...so I'm old)
Someone at Atlantia's Thirtieth Year Celebration won a 27ct Amethyst
I donated and I only wish i could have seen their face..
Well, that's just a taste of what I'm giving away starting in Five
weeks. Join us and enjoy!
Now that I have your attention, Yes... I am awarding a 35ct Ruby at
Bhakail's Yule this year, which is bigger than the 30ct Ruby from
last year's 12'th Night. So here's how you get one of the 84
gemstones I'm giving away...
(Now, you DON'T have to be at all of these...but why
wouldn't you? Don't like gemstones???)
At Iron Bog's "River Wars" on 15 October, you can learn to play "Nine
Men's Morris" and then be one of the 20 from that class who play
three rounds to win a 26.8 carat, 'Long Cushion cut Green Amethyst from Brazil
At Carillion's "Ghosts, Ghouls and Goblins" on 22 October(yes the
following week), you can learn to play "Hnefatafl" and then be one of
the 20 from that class who play three rounds to win a 27ct oval cut
Tanzanite gemstone from Africa.
At Bhakail's "Yule" on 3 December, you can learn to play "Alquerques"
and then be one of the 20 from that class who play three rounds to
win the 35ct oval cut Ruby gemstone from Burma(OK, so now it's
Myanmar(sp?), but who cares?).
Then comes the Grand Competition, at Carillon's Bellringers, 14 January.
There will be a First, Second and Third Prize for this event.
While I will not be teaching games for this last event, the prizes
for this three round competition are:
1st: Alqurques board(hand made by Lady Amy Webbe) with 12
each 6ct Ruby and Sapphire pieces
2nd: Hnefatafl board(hand made by Master Alexander the
Younger) with 24 10mm Onyx, 12 8mm Amber 'soldiers' and a 28ct Garnet 'King'
3rd: Six/Nine/Twelve man's Morris Board(hand made by Duke
Sir Gavin King Kilkenny of of Kilcarren) with 9 each of 25 to 28ct Amethyst and
Citrine playing pieces
I look forward to seeing you there!
