Sorry Erich...I saw the post first...
The Pun is Stierbach was originally founded in Manassas VA.  Home of the
American Civil War battles of the 1st and 2nd Manassas.  Stier is german for
Bull, and bach is german for creek, stream, brook (ie Run)...so the Barony
of Stierbach literally translates to...
wait for it....wait for it...

Bull Run.

So what are these puns/cants? Being from out-of-kingdom, I'm not even
familiar with where and what Stierbach is. Of course I'm always interested
in getting info on the sources and reasons, including puns, behind various
SCA placenames and their armory.

If anyone knows some of this kind of information, please check the
Florilegium placenames1-msg through 3 in the SCA-STORIES section in the
Florilegium and then post it or email me with the info.
