Wow, that is a nice note. I thank You very much. I will second that there are many individuals who are deserving of such praise in the various disciplines we participate in. I don't do anything differently than so many others. If this person and her children took joy from the experience, I am thrilled, but I wonder if they realize how much they've given me in allowing me to share what I love.

Humbled,
Lorelei

Subject: [MR] Praise for our Archery Marshal

Good morning,

Too often, when someone takes the time to write a letter about their
experience at an event or with a particular person, the message is one of
complaint. I am happy to say I received an email recently from a woman who
resides in the Middle Kingdom with words of praise for our very own Lady
Lorelei Greenleafe, Deputy Earl Marshal for Target Archery. I'd like to
share part of it with you.

EXCERPTS:

"Good day to those who get this. I want to bring to your attention a
positive experience I had at Pennsic this year. I took a class called “How
to get your kids started in archery in the SCA.” I want tell you that I
have never seen a class of this nature in my SCA experience. The instructor
is from your Kingdom and goes by the name of Lorelei Greenleafe. She gave
basic and specific information to a group of about 30 of us in a why that
made starting archery for my kids seem so easy!"

"My kids were so excited and after teaching two classes, Lady Greenleafe
agreed to work with the kids on the range using her own equipment. My boys
were delighted! We went to the range and she spent the next hour and a half
guiding my boys in how to shoot right. Some other parents came with their
kids and I think we took up a lot of her time but she was gracious and very
helpful."

"I don’t know if you will hear from the other parents but I know this one is
happy and the other people I talked to who took the class were impressed
with Lady Greenleafe. Now we bought bows for the boys and we know what to
do with them and are not afraid of going to archery now."

This is the kind of message that makes me so very proud to be Atlantian.
Lady Lorelei is an incredible asset to our Kingdom, but there are many more
like her. I hope you will join me in thanking her for service, and help me
find and recognize the many other Good Things (tm) and people who make the
SCA so much more than a hobby.
