Greetings to the Tavern! While I was in the balmy South at a fun little event called Boar Hunt, some others were braving the snow and chill winds in the Northern part of our Fair Atlantia. Here is a posting to the Atlantian Archery list that I have permission from the writer to share with you all. I enjoyed the tale, I hope you do as well.

Stay warm,

Terror through time...

Winter came early; the peaceful Barony ofBright Hills was experiencing blizzard conditions.

Unnatural conditions to cover the attackof the terrors that fill the ancient texts. Down from the north came theMountain Goblins as the first wave, they were met and felled by many arrowsfrom the brave archers of Atlantia.

The undead warriors came with speed ofmovement that only allowed but a few seconds to shoot, but they were felledwith great skill as archers had to shoot quickly to prevent the overrunning ofthe defensive positions.

Pushing through the woods were thedemons, soul eating ghost and a dragon, the weather changer, who hadpulled in the winter early. These creatures pushed the defenders backbefore they were fell with great cost.

Suddenly, the weather became worse, thewinds picked up, temperatures dropped again, the defenders were becoming numbto the reality that the Barony may be lost,10 brave, dedicated and some would say, crazy archers remained, 8 from Bright Hills defending their home land and twofrom the near by Barony of Dun Carraig who hadheard of the terrors and traveled through the blizzard to help defend thenorthern territories of Atlantia.

The moment of despair arrived, the finalattack came the dreaded giant centipede, whose bite is fatal, quickly ittried to outflank the defenders. The archers stood their ground, infreezing winds and using their last strength filled the fast moving creaturewith arrows. At last the attacking horde retreated, the snow stopped, thetemperatures started to climb. 10archers braved the frozen tundra and saved Bright Hills from the Terrors.

A new Champion was chosen by the Baronand Baroness from the defenders, Aiden of Bright Hills.

The valued and honored Lochmere arrowcompetition was not held. The current champions decided that with onlytwo Baronies represented the spirit of the arrow would not be met. Plansare underway to hold the competition soon. The champions will let thearchers know as soon as plans are complete.

Photos will be posted soon.
