[MR] Feast Menu for Hawkwood Howl

I'd like to take a moment to announce the feast menu for Hawkwood Howl (Oct.
22, Barony of Hawkwood).  This is the first SCA feast cooked by my wife
Natalie.  She is head cook for the Flat Rock Playhouse, and routinely cooks
for a cast and crew of over 75 actors and staff, so this won't be the first
time she's cooked for a large group of folks...  (just the first time for
us)

As testament to her skills...  I've easily gained 60 lbs since I've married
her...

As she told me, "I wanted to get as close to a medieval feast, but I wanted
it to be really tasty too...  so, while its not perfect as far as history
goes, it'll be yummy."

Ok, I'll stop rambling...   Here's the menu:

Hearty Breads with Flavoured Butters****
          *Whole grain breads, herb and chive butter, cinnamon-honey butter,
olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping sauce*

Soup of Funges****
          *A light mushroom soup made with white wine and cream*
* *
Salat of Fresh Herbes****
          *A blend of young lettuces and herbs with a light vinaigrette
dressing*****

La Tourtierre****
          *A French spiced meat pie*
* *
Buttered Wortes****
          *Sauteed cabbage, spinach, onions, and garlic*

Curried Vegetable Stew****
          *A slightly sweet, spicy, and savory stew of butternut squash,
zucchini, garbanzos, raisins, and tomatoes served over couscous*

Armored Chicken****
          *Chicken quarters wrapped in bacon, floured and basted until a
thick and delicious golden crust is formed*

          *A blend of root and other vegetables, tossed in olive oil and
roasted until tender*

          *A dish of peas cooked in broth with onions*

Rustic Apple Pie****
          *A blend of apples and spices baked in a free-form crust*

          *A crispy outside/chewy inside cookie made with molasses and a
variety of warm spices*
